Tired of colds

I really wish someone would come up with a cure or vaccine for the common cold. It's really overdue. Michael's cold is on the wane. Mine is set in. I'm beginning to think I'm a mucus factory.

I managed to book 1 last eye doctor visit in at the end of Nov for Michael. His doctor is moving to TN. There are no other Children's Eye Doctors in the network. We'll have to go outside Tier one to find someone who is a Kid's Eye Doctor, unless HP replaces her. She worked 4 days at 4 different clinics. Good luck on selling that to a replacement doctor. There are 2 doctors in a neighboring suburb who are Tier 2 Children's Eye Doctors. We'll consider that next year.

Michael should be waking up from his nap soon. Since the weather is better than expected, we'll probably hit the park with lots of kleenex for me. I postponed getting together today with a friend. We're going to try Wednesday due to the holiday. The first postponement was due to her daughter having flu.

No flu so far here. Michael actually ended up getting his H1N1 shot when we went into the doctor earlier this week. They had 80 doses for kids between 2-4 and pregnant women. We're supposed to try back in 30 days for his 2nd shot if they have any.

I may go tak a nap until Michael wakes up, it sounds lovely.

It's almost Halloween

We had class tonight. Michael got to pound golf tees into a pumpkin. He also thought that putting the pices inside the potato was more fun than decorating Mr. Potato Head. I put one together upside down and didn't realize it until I tried to put on the glasses and they didn't fit. Last night was the library so he was in a better mood.

Last week was interesting. Michael's primary daycare provider came down with H1N1. He also had a really bad cold. He missed school and going to the library. He spent most of the week at Grandma & Grandpa's. Grandpa spent the early part of the week hunting in the Dakotas for pheasants so Grandma got the brunt of it. Thanks!!!

The weather forecast for Saturday is not real promising. I'm hoping it will improve. I heard the local shopping center has trick or treating in the mall from 2-4. I'm leaning towards going so Michael can get some indoor trick or treating in. Our neighborhood isn't real big on it. I can think of 3 houses maybe besides our's that has lights on. Michael wants to be a fireman. He has boots, raincoat, a hat from the firefighter's and hose, so he's set. A friend gave us a Winnie the Pooh costume that I tried to talk him into, no dice so far.

Oct flying by

Wow, we're halfway through the month. This is our busy weekend. I ended up taking off Thursday due to MEA. So yesterday, Michael & I got to notarize our bi-annual reports and then make sure we had enough postage on reports to get to Viet Nam. I need to copy the report onto a jump drive in order to send it from a more stable computer. Note to self ,Windows 7 comes out later this month- BUY IT!

The trouble is the photos. I use 3 to 4 whatever photos - they blow up lovely to large photos but stink if you try and send them via email. We also visited the library since Michael didn't get his fix on Monday. He thinks he should get to go to the library every day since Mom does. I try and let him go once a week...

Today, I broke down and bought Michael a year's membership to Eagle's Nest. I live blocks from the place and with the crappy weather lately think I'll get my money's worth fast.

Tomorrow is the Apple Orchard - hay ride, etc. and another party - ok, potluck in the early evening. Sunday is likely Boo Zoo. Right now is nap time. I think I may try and squeeze one in myself

Busy, busy, busy

Some weeks it seems so busy there isn't time to breathe. I just got done with my 6 day week. I managed to do the wash last night, so we could ge tto the grocery store this morning. This afternoon is the Mid-Autum Festival in St Paul that we plan to go to.

My dad got the new poles up for the clothes line. The cement needs to set for awhile before putting the line up so the poles don't twist. They look lovely. I was curious and went on the net to see if you could buy them ready made any more and found some, but boy were they expensive.

On Wednesday, I get my first and hopefully last crown. It's the first appointment. I get to go back in 2 weeks for the real crown. Oh joy. On Friday, I have an appointment to get Michael's picture taken. He managed to do a real number on his glasses again and ended up with some cuts on his face. Hopefully it will be healed by then. I can't believe how mangaled those poor frames get. We haven't had to replace them yet - they keep bending them back into shape. He wore his second pair on Saturday until we could get them fixed.

September has flown by. I have a feeling Oct may go fast also.

Timber

Well, I thought it was nice and warm so I hung my wash on the clothes line. Dad had helped me rdo the line since it had gotten stretched out with the camping stuff. I couldn't figure out why the line was dragging so I pulled on it to tighen it up and one of the poles went down. It had rusted/rotted through. All my clothes were on the ground. Luckily I had not mowed recently so i was able to throw the stuff in the dryer.

After Michael finishes his nap we are off in Grandpa's truck to Fleet Farm. I hear they have clothes line poles or stuff to make them. I really like my clothes line!

Another week flew by

Our schedule seems more hectic these days. Monday we went to the library after daycare. Michael adores going to the library. It's good for bribery. Tuesday we started "school" (ECFE class). Wednesday We went to the dentist. I got the bad news- I need a crown. Yuck. Thursday we met the folks at DQ for an anniversery celebration. 49 Years, wow. It's my short work week.

Friday we went to the folks. Mom is doing a sewing project for me. We also went down to Hansen Park for a bit of digging in the sand. After Dad went with us to Menards. He wasn't feeling too well. I picked up 2 barrells for leaves or for rather 1 for leaves and 1 for Michael to play in. After his nap he had a dip in his pool. We also picked rasberries. The second crop has started. Boy did they taste good. We had an early supper and relaxed in the evening with books, cds and some tv ( I was tired).

This morning we went to the ECFE Open House. Michael got to play on the playground equipment, so he was happy. After that it was the bank and out for lunch. I also picked up fruit for snacks at school on Tuesday. We are bringing the treats this next week. Since a kid is allergic to eggs, I figured fruit was safe. There will be 10 kids in Michael's class. Nine showed up last week 7 boys and 2 girls. Ages 2.5 to 4. The majority are 3. I think he'll like it.

It's naptime now. Peace and quiet. I may go take a nap also.

Sept seems to be flying

Michael has another cold. Luckily he seems to not be bothered by them. I wish I was as lucky. Between Michael and our temp work situation (lots of people in a small space), I ended up staying home 2 days this week being sick. I slept alot. I really enjoyed the 6 weeks this summer were neither of us had a cold. I'd like to try it again only for a longer period of time.

Tomorrow, I supposed to go to a scrapbook party. So far the only scrapbooking I've done much of has been online. I like that- it's easy to correct and change things. The real stuff intimidates me - so much room for error. I would like to make a baby book for Michael. It will not be a traditional book, since that really doesn't work - too little information about his first 2 years and background, so I'm adjusting the concept. His lifebook came out great on an online scrapbooking site. I bought a bunch of stuff earlier. I have loads of photos. Now I just need to be brave enough to start putting it together. Hopefully Michael will have fun playing with the other kids there- it's at someone's house with a bunch of the MN Mothers by Choice Group.

Next week Michael & I start ECFE classes on Tuesday evenings. It's a pre-school readiness thing. Traditional pre-school doesn't work real well with my schedule and daycare. Some others at work have gone this route and said it was great. I figure it can't hurt to try it.

Well I think I'll go hit the sack and catch some more zzs.
